Basic(Beginners All purpose symbolic Instruction codes) is one of the easiest high level programming languages. It allows the usage of English, like language and uses mathematical notation. It was developed in 1964 at Dartmouth college in the U.S.A, by professors John Kemeney and Thomas Kurtz. Originally, It was developed as an interactive language for mainframes computer. Since, its development basic has undergone many modifications and improvements and now many versions of Basic are available, each version having some extra features. Some of the versions of BASIC are GW-BASIC, QBASIC and Visual BASIC.
QBASIC is a high level computer language published by Microsoft. QBASIC environment includes a full screen syntax checking, multi-file and multi-window editing, full debugging facilities, pull-down menus, syntax checking editor and a simple yet a powerful menu structure that can be driven through either by a keyboard or a mouse. Once you are in the QBASIC environment, you can edit, run, debug and return the program without switching programs.

Visual-BASIC is a third-generation event driven programming language and integrated development environment from Microsoft for its com programming model first released in 1991. Visual BASIC was derived from BASIC and enables the rapid application development(RAD) of graphical user interface(GUI) applications.

QBASIC is a very simple language to learn and use. The Qbasic editor ensures that each new line of the code conforms to the line format Qbasic. In this format, reserved words appear in capital letters and all operators and operands are separated by a space. Qbasic stores each line at its program in the memory in a translated form; the entire program is ready to run as soon as you enter it into the editor. So, the program runs almost as soon as you give the command. Qbasic provides help immediately while typing a statement. For examples: before completing a line, if you want to review the syntax of any keyboard, then your cursor after or on the keyboard and press F1.
Windows are another important feature of Qbasic. It provides two windows on the screen. View window and Immediate window. The largest or upper window is called views window. Where, you can enter or edit the lines of your program. Below the view window is a smaller window called the Immediate window. In the Immediate window, you can enter and test Qbasic commands and functions before you enter a statement into your program. In Qbasic, programmers are able to write programs that are efficient, powerful and carefully strucke. Programs in Qbasic are easier to create, modify and debug. Alphanumeric labels can be used to make the programs more readable and writable because line numbers are not compulsory in Qbasic for its program statement. Qbasic encourages the user to divide its program into small procedures. Which are called subprograms and functions5. Qbasic supports two very powerful decision structures. They are block structured if-end if statements and select end select statements. Qbasic supports more versatile. Do loop statements along with traditional for Never statements for repetition structures using the structures with Do-loop, the user can create Do-while loop and Do-until loop.

It is easy to understand and find debug in our computer program. Some elements of Qbasic are:- Expression, Statements, Variable, Constant, Data type, operator, keywords, character set, syntax. The combination of variable, constant, operator, etc is called expression. A combination of Alphabet digit symbol and wild card is called character set, The reserve words which help to develop the program is called key words. A symbol that takes part for calculation is called operator. It is an element of Qbasic that holds the value for a few times and is called a variable. It is an element of Qbasic which has a fixed value called constant. A function which built the program is called statements and The building block of statements is known as function. There are two functions: Library/built in function and User defined function.
